CLINICAL STAFF AND AFFILIATED PROFESSIONALS
Dr. Ericha Scott, PhD, MEd, NCC, LPC, CSAC-II, ATR-BC
Dr. Ericha Scott is a nationally certified counselor (NCC), a board certified registered registered art therapist (ATR), and a registered expressive arts therapist (REAT). Dr. Scott is the former clinical director of The Canyon in Malibu and worked for Sierra Tucson in the program for sexual and trauma recovery.
For twenty four years, she has designed and facilitated numerous art experiential workshops based upon her work as an educator, drug counselor, therapist, researcher, artist, art therapist, and a college professor. She has presented art experiental workshops to state, national and international mental health conferences, sometimes speaking to audiences of over 1,000 participants. Her doctoral on the topic of trauma and self-mutilation was published by UCLA in the journal, The Arts and Psychotherapy. She has published a chapter in the textbook on how to effectively integrate the creative arts therapies into treatment for those with addiction and trauma.
Dr. Scott received a doctorate from The Union Institute in Clinical Psychology and Creative Arts Psychotherapy; Post Master's Graduate Art Therapy Certificate, The College of Notre Dame; M.Ed., Florida Atlantic University, Education; B.A., Florida Southern College, Fine Art. Additional studies in fine arts were completed at Sarah Lawrence College in Lacoste, France. She has been a board member for the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association and Allen Street Gallery.
Wayne Raiter, LICSW, LFMT, Program Consultant
Wayne is the former Director of the Johnson Institute and has been involved in the development of many of the program and intervention models widely used today. In collaboration with the Seasons Recovery Centers,
Wayne has developed an important and effective model of addiction treatment acknowledging the primacy of the Family in addiction treatment.
Wayne trains and speaks worldwide on the issues of addiction treatment and intervention. Wayne is one of the most respected and innovative thinkers in addiction treatment today.
Dr. Debra Mandel, Ph.D., Family Program Director
Dr Mandel is a recognized and respected psychologist, author, columnist, speaker, and media expert with over twenty years experience. She specializes in treating adolescents through geriatrics who suffer from anxiety, stress, childhood abuse, eating disorders, addictions, workplace/career issues, and general life concerns. She also has extensive experience counseling individuals and couples dealing with relationship struggles, infidelity, divorce or other losses.
Dr. Debra, relationship expert, is the author of Your Boss is Not Your Mother: Eight Steps to Eliminating Office Drama and Creating Positive Relationships at Work (Agate, 2006) and Healing the Sensitive Heart: How to Stop Getting Hurt, Build Your Inner Strength, and Find the Love You Deserve (Adams Media, 2003, and Airleaf Publishing, 2005).
April Rossi, Ph.D, CIS, CAADAC, Psychotherapist
Dr Rossi, whose father, Dr Ernest Rossi collaborated with the Psychotherapy giant Milton Erickson, literally grew up on the knee of one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th Century. Her practical and warm approach to addiction treatment has touched thousands of clients in Southern California.
A lifelong member of Malibu, Dr Rossi is a well known and established member of the local treatment community. Dr. Rossi has been working in addiction treatment for the past 10 years and conducted interventions and group and individual treatment throughout Southern California.
Christopher Bathum, MA, CIS, CHT, Executive Director
Christopher has been working in Drug Addiction Treatment since 1980. He is the past Emergency Services Director of Synergy Crisis Intervention Services where he developed and implemented new models of Drug Crisis Intervention. Christopher has administered NGO relief and advocacy organizations in North America and Asia, and taught meditation in North America, Europe and Asia. Christopher’s private practice in Los Angeles exposed him to the powerful effectiveness of high resource residential addiction treatment, which he has worked to refine and improve for the past five years.
Christopher has developed and administered treatment, intervention and counseling programs for 25 years with a passion for improving the treatment of addiction and co occurring disorders. His focus on hiring and developing the best staff into a cohesive and effective vision and treatment team has been recognized both nationally and in the southern California treatment community.
