Drug Rehab Programs
Right now in the United States there are over 15 million people living with what can be characterized as an addiction to drugs. Sadly, only a very small percentage of those with drug addictions will ever get the professional help they need to overcome their dependence on illicit substances.
But those who are lucky enough to find their way to a drug rehab center see their lives changed profoundly as a result. Drug rehab facilities are staffed by individuals who have devoted their lives to helping individuals break the cycle of addiction, and teach them the skills needed to live a clean and sober life.
Drug rehab facilities are located throughout the country – from the busiest urban centers to the most scenic areas in the world. The costs, treatment styles and areas of emphasis may differ, but the goal is always the same: to help save lives.
What types of Addiction are treated a Drug Rehab Centers?
The majority of drug rehab centers, including the life-saving work being performed at Seasons Recovery Centers covers all the major drug addictions, including:

• Prescription painkiller addiction

Different Drug Rehab Formats
There are two primary drug rehabilitation progream formats: residential and outpatient. Both offer recovering addicts many of the same core programs, but deliver them in a different way.
• Residential drug rehab has the individual move into an addiction treatment facility full time so that they can receive round the clock care from the treatment professionals on staff. This includes daily counseling sessions, exercise programs, holistic programs (such as yoga and meditation) and other ways to enhance the mind, body and spirit of the individual. Residential addiction treatment programs are a “safe place” where the individual does not have to worry about the distractions of the outside world – and can focus solely on their recovery.
• Outpatient drug rehab programs offer life-saving treatment, but with a difference: the individual attends treatment during the day, and is then free to return home in the evening when their sessions are complete. Outpatient rehab is an appropriate choice for those individuals who wish to maintain close ties with family and friends during treatment, or have responsibilities that preclude them from dropping everything to enter a residential program.
Unique types of Drug Rehab Programs
There are a number of different “niche” drug rehab programs available for those with special needs – or simply those who will benefit more from a more focused treatment styles. Most unique among these drug rehab programs are:
• Women’s Drug Rehab. Studies have found that women benefit greatly from gender-specific treatment that focuses on community and group counseling. Although there are not many facilities around the country that deal exclusively with women, there are a number of top programs that have now begun offering women-only counseling and other healing opportunities within the core program.
• GLBT Drug Rehab. Members of the Gay and Lesbian community have higher rates of addiction to drugs and alcohol than members of the general population. Recently, there has been a rise in the number of facilities that take the special needs of these men and women to heart and develop counseling plans and other programs to help them address issues of their sexuality as they pertain to substance abuse.
• Dual Diagnosis Drug Rehab. Dual diagnosis patients suffer from co-occurring mental health issues and addiction. These high-risk patients require integrated care from a team of both psychiatric professionals and addiction counselors. Not every facility meets the needs of the dual diagnosis patient, but given that half of those who have an alcohol or drug addiction also suffer from a mental illness, expect the number of those facilities to rise in the coming years.
